Personal Notes.
Vladislav, or just 'Vlad' to his comrades is one of life's born sergeants. Despite being marked as officer material during his miliatry service, he is the first to admit that he found himself unsuited to life as an officer for a variety of reasons.
His personal life, as is common with those who become starship marines, has been difficult. He and his ex-wife separated in 3285 shortly after he joined the marine corps. His children, now grown up, stay in touch with him.
During his career he made few friends outside the military, the only notable exception is a continued entirely platonic friendship with Professor Deirdre Solgin, one of the foremost experts on plant genetics at the University of Oith in Quadrant 7. They share a deep interest in rare and unusual non-engineered natural plant life.
Since leaving the military, Vlad has been studying structural engineering, part time, via the Venerian Space University correspondance courses. He has already completed his first degree and his hoping to get his masters degree in a years' time. He says "I find I'm inspired by the elegence of good engineering - particularly the fusion of organic forms with modern materials". However, soldering is his first love - and whilst he might switch careers sometime in the next couple of decades, he feels in no rush to do so yet.

After taking a range of freelance jobs around quadrant 8, he took a temporary contract again with IFU in 3212 for a simplesmall-scale escort mission to Microprose. Unfortunately, in attempting to drive off an ambush by local criminals he was fatally wounded, and died.
