Proximity Grenade

General Description

This has been a fairly straightforward development of the standard radiation grenade by replacing the fusing system. The impact fusing system Mk74 has been replaced by a static field generator proximity fuse Mk2 based on a similar system used in ship-to-ship missiles.

Employment

The Proximity Grenade is roughly the same size as a radiation grenade and can be fitted into a standard grenade rack.
The grenade is automatically armed the turn after placing or throwing.
It will detonate shortly after (about 1 second) it detects the movement of any large massive body within its radius (3 units). This will include Starship Marines, Combat Robots and doors.
It contains the same warhead as a grenade, and therefore has the same effect.
