Public Holidays

There are very few universally agreed public holidays across human space, though many national or even planetary public days of celebration or religious observance.

Currently there are three days recognised across all polities:

Semaj Day

This celebrates the life and work of Professor Mek Semaj, the inventor of the Hyperspace Drive. This is always celebrated on Day 1 of the StarYear

SolMass

The origins of this holiday is somewhat confused and mostly lost to history, but it almost certainly has its origins on pre-interstellar Earth. This is celebrated on Day 394 of the StarYear.

VOTE Day

Victory Over The Exterminators (VOTE) day was introduced in 3227 following reports of the sucess of the Grand Armada in the destruction of the Hositle Exterminator Builders controlling Artificial Intelligence AI.
