Background

Little is known about Second Foundation, except official information issued by the Mald Academic COuncil.
According to those sources this world is the home of what Mald call The Great Library Project.
It is speculated that this has been the Mald repsonse to potential existencial threats in human space such as the Exterminators and The Chosen.

Governance

Second Foundation follows broadly the usual Maldenite pattern of consultative government. This is coordinated by Great Library Committee.

A number of invited international observers have visited this world on MDF ships, and the best estimates based on transit time are that the world is between 598 and 627 parsecs from Sol. Naturally this does not help identify the precise location.
