Surface-Based Heavy Energy Weapon System SBHEWS

An array of high power plasmatic and laser weapons designed to act as a planetside 'shore battery' - protecting key cities and installations from hostile landings or space bombardment. It is very expensive, and whilst the weapons can outrange ship-borne weaponry, they cannot defend themselves very well against over the horizon attacks, or attacks by conventional GF units delivered to the surface out of their range.
