!de Andres One of [The Twelve] Families of the Solar Republic. The de Andres Family is a Tier Three family in the [Solar Republic]. This once powerful family has now slipped to Third Tier and briefly benefited from marriage into the [Rathbone] family to secure a brief de Andres period as [First Citizen] from 3162-3174. The family has recently increasingly thrown its lot in with the [Rathbone]s but now appear to be stuck on one side of an intra-family rivalry for leadership within that Tier One family. The de Andres support for Seb Rathbone remains strong but their influence within parts of the Rathbone family supporting Sybil has clearly declined. The de Andres family retains strong corporate interests and is known to have strong political links with both the [Greater Federation of Asteel] and the [Martian Association of Free Colonies], through both the Foreign and Colonial Offices. The family has very strong contacts with the Imperial [Starship Marines] and has a leadership role in the First Marine Assault Brigade (Brigadier General Elvira de Andres). Other than the Marines the family has little interest in the Admiralty but is focused on economic growth and maintaining positive relationships with other polities. There are many senior family members who seem to be trying to regain independence for the family.
