!Imperial Senate The Imperial Senate of the [Solar Republic] is selected by the [Council of Representatives] (elected by popular vote), from amongst the most powerful, important and experienced individuals within the Empire. Senators often remain in their position for many years. The Senate is the body that selects the [First Citizen], usually upon the demise of the previous incumbent. The Senate is usually heavily influenced by the [Senior Citizens] who provide an important and supposedly apolitical Privy Council role. In reality both bodies are heavily influenced the [The Twelve] important family dynasties within the Empire.
