!Survey Ship A class of ship specialising in astrographic surveys of starsystems. Essential for mapping navigation hazards. Carries a large complement of scientists, and can conduct other sorts of study also. Survey ships also routinely visit unmapped systems (see [Empty Space]) to check on the health of the star (for signs of instablitiy that might lead to nova or [Supernova]). Survey findings are routinely passed to the [Galactic Star Registry] at Luna.
