History

Bullfrog has been a stable and moderately prosperous colony within the Mars Association of Free Colonies (MAFC) since its establishment. Its economy remained at an average level through the early 3230s, but improvements in infrastructure and external investment saw it rise to an Above Average economic rating from 3237 onwards. Governed by the Gold Expedition Church, the colony maintains a limited democratic structure, with Nanotech listed as its original financial backer.

The presence of multiple major religions, including two distinct factions of the First Church of Earth, as well as Elvists, Hindus, and Atheists, reflects a diverse spiritual landscape. Despite potential for religious friction, there have been no recorded incidents of sectarian conflict in recent turns.

Bullfrog has not been the site of major political crises, Exterminator activity, or Forerunner discoveries in recent history. Its steady economic performance and internal cohesion mark it as one of the MAFC’s more stable worlds in Quadrant 7.

The most significant event of recent years was the discovery, in 3225, of a 'Ghost Net' of distributed (non-sentient) AI nodes in the data infrastructure of the planetary government which had been mapping civilian activity for at least a year and a half. The net was rapidly shut down and the networks purged, and although there was a suspicion of organised crime involvement the incident was never successfully attributed.
