Geography

Y19 is a geographically diverse world, dominated by broad oceans and extensive continental interiors. The Vardane Ocean, the largest body of water, separates the principal northern and southern landmasses and is characterised by powerful currents and frequent storms. Inland, the magnificent and remote Aluric Mountain Range forms an immense spine of snow-covered peaks, high plateaux, glaciers and steep-sided valleys. To its east lies the Kassaran Desert, a vast rain-shadow region of rocky plains, salt basins and shifting dune fields. Further south, the humid Tembala Basin supports dense tropical jungle, enormous river systems and seasonally flooded lowlands. The cooler Merrin Highlands consist of rolling uplands, exposed moorland and deeply incised river valleys. Along the shores of the smaller Caladan Ocean, broad coastal plains give way to broken cliffs, island chains and sheltered inland seas. Large areas of Y19 remain sparsely explored, particularly within the Aluric Mountains and the deepest Tembala forests.
